"There's no place I can be since I found serenity..."

WOW...I am still in shock....

I have returned from my trip still intact. Not in a ditch somewhere, although thanks Will for the concern. ;)

We arrived in Vegas a little later than we expected to cause we spent a lot of time at the coolest store in Cedar City, called The Wiz.
After arriving in Vegas We checked into our Ghetto (or 'Disco' as Rachel likes to call it) hotel. It looked like it had not been cleaned well, fun stuff let me tell you.
Then we headed over to the Palms hotel and Casino which is where they were showing Serenity. As We waited in line with anticipation Becky was on the phone with relatives, and credit card companies trying to cancel her card that she left on the roof of her car in Cedar city while getting gas. Way to Go Becky! Just kidding! I love you like pancakes.
We saw many interesting people in line for the movie, including some that were dressed as characters of the show. Others wore Serenity or firefly t-shirts, though Becky and I did not. Had we been smarter we could have made some flippen awesome t-shirts! But alas my "Vote for Pedro" t-shirt just was not cutting it. We did get free pins that I pinned on to my shirt! does that count?
A camera crew showed up and began filming the line and interviewing some people. Becky made a joke that she could get an interview if she showed cleavage and we all laughed. I on the other hand was not wearing the appropriate Cleavage attire. DARN ME!!!
Then we were all shuffled to the entrance of the theater like sheep and before we could enter there were men in suits who I believe worked for the CIA. They checked our bags and purses and I opened my purse to show that I had no film camera, and then I was allowed to enter. Although, I lost the coolest Sharpie this side of the Mississippi! It was a big one with a cool tip!!! *Sigh* But enough with the mourning.
We entered the theater and chose seats towards the top and sat down relieved that we were finally there. The Film crew came into the theater to do a few more interviews and then we noticed that they were filming the entry way to the theater and we were all freaking out cause we thought maybe a star was coming. I didn't get my hopes up for Joss, cause I didn't want to be disappointed. Then I was shocked to see that HE actually walked in the theater! Him in all his glowing genius glory was standing at the front of the theater!!!! Summer Glau was also there but she looked not as important as JOSS WHEDON!!! The whole audience stood and applauded and then some bowed, including me and we screamed loudly until Joss put up his hands for us to be quiet. He introduced himself saying, "Hi I am Joss Whedon, some of you may know me" We all laughed and then he introduced Summer who seemed shy and overwhelmed by the cheers she got. She spoke and said that she was proud to have worked on the movie, and she hoped we all enjoyed it. Then Joss spoke again saying that there was a big screen him that would come on the screen to introduce the movie and that the big screen him was more intelligent and funnier than the small him. So we all turned our attention to big screen Joss and he made lots of jokes saying,"firefly was Hailed by critics as being one of the most canceled shows ever!" and he said that Hollywood didn't usually approve of movies made from canceled TV shows, but that he was able to make it because of the support of the fans!! and we all cheered and clapped about that.
then the film began and some were still watching Joss, including me. So he quickly ducked behind the entry way wall so that we would watch the film instead of him.
The Movie Blew my mind!! Freakin rocked my world!! I Was glued to the screen and watched as the best movie I have seen all year played before me.
After it was over Joss and Summer reappeared from behind the safety of the wall and sat down behind a table at the front of the theater to sign autographs for the fans that were there FOR FREE!! Yeah Baby!
As we waited in line we all discussed the movie and the highlights. Then as we got closer to the table I was unable to take my eyes of Joss and Summer. But mostly Joss, cause I worship the very ground that he walks on.
WE got our autographs from summer and I told her that she rocked beyond all rocking and she laughed and said thanks. Then I approached the Whedon and asked if I could get a picture with him. He said sure and I hurried over to his side. The CIA agent standing near the table told me to hurry and I gave Becky my camera phone. Becky for the life of her couldn't figure out how to work it and she and I started to freak and Joss said "its ok, don't stress out." He looked kinda concerned I think, so I asked him if I could take a picture of just him and he said "you want one of just me? I guess." So I snapped a quick and blury picture of him and then Becky made a comment about not liking something in the movie and Joss blamed Summer and we laughed and then hurried off back to our car, without a second look cause we were still in Joss afterglow. We made it back to the 'disco' hotel in one piece even though it was touch and go there for a bit cause Becky was in a Joss dream land and didn't seem to have much idea of what was going on around her while driving. Then we sat there in silence until Becky turned to me as if in sudden realization and shouted, "We just met Joss Whedon!" and then I screamed again and we both began another babbling fest. We noticed (like the big freaks we are) that there were Joss finger prints on our Serenity souvenirs and we hastily put them away in fear of smudging them.
It was one of the best nights ever and I thank Becky for making it possible. She is cooler than most and should be given cookies. BEST NIGHT EVER!!!
